Get Ready for a Great Conference!
The Western States Land Commissioners Association (WSCLA) selected the State of Idaho to host its 2008 Summer Conference. We are excited by the opportunity to welcome public land managers from the West, and land management professionals from across the nation, to our Capitol city, Boise, in July of 2008.
The WSLCA conference, scheduled for July 13-17, 2008, features open dialog about western land management issues including fire management, energy development, maximizing trust revenues and much more.
This year's conference is being held in conjuction with the Children's Land Alliance Supporting Schools annual conference.
Space is limited at this year’s conference, so you are encouraged to register early.
About the WSLCA
The Western States Land Commissioners Association (WSLCA) consists of 23 states which together manage 447 million acres of land, mineral right properties, and land beneath navigable waterways.
The Association meets twice a year to share and exchange information, hear from experts in relevant areas of public land management, and further the established objectives. The Association also meets once a year with the Eastern Lands Resources Council. The general sessions are open to the public.
Representatives of all states and provinces which manage public lands and lands beneath navigable waterways are welcome and invited to attend and participate in Association meetings.
About CLASS
The Children's Land Alliance Supporting Schools (CLASS) is a non-profit corporation organized to provide information and services to education communities. Prior to CLASS, there has been no organization of the beneficiaries of these trusts.
Benefits of these collaborative efforts by education leaders include improved education through increased funding from school trusts, support by education communities for state and federal actions that benefit school lands and schools, increased revenue from permanent school funds through investment strategies, new research to support trust managers, and assistance in the development of public information about the trust lands and their purpose for educating children.
CLASS is funded by grants from the United States Department of Education and donations from corporations and individuals.
